On Saturday, Labrador said farewell to a dear friend, colleague, avid community volunteer and ally. We are incredibly saddened by the passing of Caroline Hong and offer our sincere and deepest condolences to her husband Perry and very large network of family and friends.
Caroline was tremendously respected and was the most genuine and kind soul you could ever hope to be lucky enough to meet in your lifetime. You knew immediately you were incredibly fortunate to have her in your life.  She approached life with a steady hand – even during her illness – and could speak intelligently and with great thoughtfulness on many topics.
Caroline was a long-time volunteer with the LNCC for events such as Expo Labrador, and was a tenant of the LNCC with her company Stantec. She didn’t come to the office much as she mostly worked remotely, but whenever she did arrive, it was such a treat for the staff to catch-up with Caroline. She asked for an update on your work and family, and sincerely listened with great attention and care.
During a recent visit to her home as she was undergoing treatment, she never spoke of her illness. She spoke about her husband Perry, her dog Kracker, Rotary Club, her friends, and how much support (and food!) she had received from the community. She was immensely grateful.
Labrador is a better place because of Caroline, and she exemplified fully the importance of serving her community and others. We will collectively mourn and celebrate Caroline’s tremendous life.
