Feb 2025
This is a historic and difficult time for Canada, businesses and communities. We understand your stress and your need for answers. While we still have many questions, we must be united with our partners across the country. The Chamber is pleased with the federal government’s strong and swift response, and we are advocating for equally strong and swift financial support for businesses, without placing the burden on employers.
We have requested a meeting with the provincial government to share additional details surrounding strategic measures to alleviate pressures on employers, and we will continue to work collectively with government, as well as Chambers across the province, to offer wide-ranging assistance for businesses and communities in Labrador.
During this confusing and extremely challenging time, we need strong leadership and quick decision-making in support of our economy. From removing internal trade barriers between provinces and territories, marketing our products and strengths to the world, strengthening business partnerships within Canada, and supporting local products, we need to be focused on efficiency, opportunity and self-reliance. It is more important than ever that Labrador be united and offer help to our friends and colleagues across the region operating in hardest hit industries.
