Positioning Labrador at the Canada’s Northern Defence Hub
With the Government of Canada’s announcement of up to $8 billion in long-term investments at 5 Wing Goose Bay, Labrador is entering a transformative period that is redefining Canada’s northern defence infrastructure, strengthening Arctic sovereignty, expanding industrial capacity, and creating significant economic opportunities. Focused specifically on 5 Wing Goose Bay as Canada’s emerging northern defence hub, this event is the continuation of a series of industry-engagement initiatives led by the Labrador North Chamber of Commerce to build on the momentum surrounding Canada’s defence industry and local emerging opportunities.
This conference brings together stakeholders from government, military, industry, aerospace, and the local business community to partner and participate in upcoming procurement opportunities. Through expert presentations, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, attendees will gain a clear understanding of upcoming partnership and procurement opportunities and the broader positive economic impacts of this historic investment in Labrador.
This event will bring Labrador opportunities to the provincial and national market while strengthening the role of local business to ensure procurement readiness. The LNCC’s mandate is to ensure Labrador businesses are well positioned to capture the economic benefits of an investment made in Labrador, and local businesses need to be at the table when defence dollars are being allocated in the province. We aim to support businesses that want to expand and become part of major project supply chains and ensure the Labrador business community has a place in both provincial and federal defence discussions.
