Darrell Bennett, Director
Dandaldar Inc.
Born into a family business, Darrell Bennett was introduced to the realities of running a business at an early age. He spent much of his career in the convenience store and gasoline industries, working in retail operations, purchasing, supplier negotiations and logistics across Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Pasadena and Corner Brook.
Darrell has overseen the operations of Lake Melville Wholesale since its establishment in 1992. He remains actively involved in the family’s retail businesses, Hamilton River Convenience & Creamery and Grenfell Variety. Whether working with suppliers, overseeing operations or serving customers behind the counter, he values staying directly involved in the businesses and the people they serve.
His experience on both sides of the supply chain has given him a clear understanding of the realities of doing business in Labrador. He knows that the true cost of logistics goes beyond freight rates, and that transportation delays and purchasing decisions made without considering local conditions can have significant consequences for businesses and the communities they serve.
Darrell served on the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay Council from 1997 to 2001 and returned briefly as a member of the 13th Council in 2021. Throughout his career, he has valued building relationships, sharing knowledge and finding practical solutions to challenges.
His interest in serving on the Labrador North Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors comes from a desire to better understand the issues facing businesses throughout Labrador, not just those affecting his own. He hopes to share his experience, learn from others and work together to find a path forward for Labrador’s business community.
