Holiday Inn Express & Suites St. John’s Airport, located at 5 Navigator Avenue in St. John’s, NL, opened their doors in 2016! They are a 100% locally owned and operated hotel that prides itself on excellent Customer Service. Most recently employing 20 local employees, Holiday Inn Express & Suites St. John’s Airport, much like many other accommodation enterprises, faced challenges within business! Prior to November 2020, there was no on-site restaurant, however that came to a halt quickly as the opening of The Rock Steakhouse Bar & Grill officially opened to guests and community members!
Debbie Clarke, Director of Sales for the Holiday Inn & Suites St. John’s Airport, like many others when starting any new role within a new company, had feelings of excitement but also have feelings of uneasiness from the potential unknowns but that quickly changed when she said that she knew within days she would love it there. The team at the hotel all strive for Customer Service Excellence, so she knew she would be right at home.
Community involvement has the power to bring positive, measurable change to both the communities and businesses. They provide in kind and financial donations to a variety of organizations, employee volunteer days, non-profit partnerships and more. The need for corporate community involvement has never been stronger. The benefits of corporate community involvement are two-fold, providing positive returns to local charitable organizations and neighborhoods and boosting company performance indicators, such morale and employee engagement. As the company continues to build partnerships and working relationships within our entire Province, communities and our business are strengthened.
Debbie knows some of the challenges that Labradorians face with having to travel outside for medical appointments. A recent advertisement Holiday Inn Express & Suites St. John’s Airport had posted, the title was, “If you need to travel- Come Stay home with us.” That is not just a slogan, that is truly who we are and what we do at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites. Being 100% Locally Owned & Operated they can tailor their service to the needs of their guests. We know all to well how stressful traveling to St. John’s for treatment or for that all important medical appointments can be.
The tourism industry has been hit hard due to Covid-19 and they are no exception. The processes IHG has in place has assisted them immensely in implementing protection for their staff & guests. They take great pride in being among the top in all categories in North America for safety and excellence.
