Located in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, the Labrador North Chamber of Commerce (LNCC) has been Central Labrador’s business and regional economic development voice for more than 60 years. Job Purpose

To manage and coordinate logistics for conferences, trade shows and meetings; engage with current and prospective LNCC members; and support new business development opportunities.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate logistics for LNCC conferences and trade shows (Expo Labrador and Northern Lights) including liaising with event clients and suppliers, sponsorship, registration and speaker logistics
  • Manage the LNCC’s member benefits program by highlighting existing benefits and identifying new benefit opportunities
  • Promote LNCC boardroom meeting space and manage all bookings including set-up and catering requirements
  • Act as first point-of-contact for businesses and partners to engage with the LNCC for various events, initiatives and projects
  • Continuous new member outreach including scheduling of meetings and hosting of virtual and in-person networking events to promote LNCC membership
  • Spearhead the attraction and coordination of events for the LNCC’s Venture North event management brand
  • Identify and coordinate topics and speakers for membership meetings and events, both virtually and in-person
  • Develop marketing and advertising posts for weekly newsletter and on LNCC social media channels
  • Represent the LNCC at various conferences and business events

 

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Experience in marketing, member services and/or events management is an asset
  • Degree or diploma in business administration, communications and/or public relations, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Familiar utilizing social media platforms, Microsoft Office, Canva, Zoom
  • A self-starter requiring minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent planning, organizing and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of regional economic development challenges and opportunities
  • Genuine interest in assisting members and businesses grow and thrive 
  • Excellent customer service skills and professionalism

 

Working Conditions

Small office environment with a supportive and collaborative team. This position is based in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, though travel within as well as outside of the province may be required 1-2 times annually.
