Labrador North Chamber of Commerce Celebrates  2025 Business Award Winners

HAPPY VALLEY-GOOSE BAY – In celebration of the Central Labrador business community, the staff and Board of the Labrador North Chamber of Commerce (LNCC) are thrilled to announce the winners of the 2025 LNCC Business Awards.

“There is much to celebrate to acknowledge the diversity, growth and accomplishments of businesses and entrepreneurs in Central Labrador,” says LNCC Chief Executive Officer Julianne Griffin. “The event aims to foster healthy competition, inspire entrepreneurship and leadership, and showcase best practices and innovation in business.”

The LNCC Business Awards is an initiative that celebrates the achievements, excellence, and contributions of businesses and entrepreneurs within Central Labrador (Happy Valley-Goose Bay, North West River, Sheshatshiu). The awards ceremony is a night of brilliance inspiration, and a platform where the Chamber honors exceptional businesses and leaders.

During the third annual award ceremony held on Thursday, November 6, and after a competitive nomination process, the LNCC presented seven awards to the following businesses and individuals:

 

  • Outstanding Workplace of the Year – Birch Island Spa
  • Non-Profit of the Year – Mokami Status of Women Council
  • Young Entrepreneur of the Year – Dallas Bennett Penney, Hamilton River Convenience & Creamery
  • Community Impact Award – Abbass & McLean Holdings (Gosling Lake Campground)
  • Small Business of the Year – Inuky Glass Art & Engraving
  • Business of the Year – Mamattuk Restaurant
  • Business Leader of the Year – Peter Woodward, Woodward Group of Companies

 

“The Chamber represents businesses of all sizes and across all sectors, many setting impressive standards for customer service, community partnerships, diversity and equity, and outstanding leadership” says Griffin. “We are inspired by our members each day and we look forward to hosting this event celebrating the best in business for many years to come.”
