The Labrador Interpretation Centre includes a variety of information on the peoples of Labrador – Innu, Inuit, Metis, and Settlers. Stop by to listen to voice recordings and view art and artifacts from the different cultures that make up Labrador’s Aboriginal history.

Commonwealth War Graves “Lest-We-Forget” Cemetery

The Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery is located approximately two kilometres past the Canadian Forces Base Arena. During the war, Goose Bay was the Area Headquarters of the Atlantic Command in Labrador, one of the great centres of world air transport. Airmen that were killed in this area during the Second World War are buried here.

Traveling back to 1941, you will read stories of Canadian and US aircraft transiting during WWII to Europe, and also stories from the Cold War, as the Americans from the Strategic Air Command called this their home. This museum features stories of the Canadian, American, Dutch, German and British Air forces. Come and check out the museum and learn about 5 Wing Goose Bay history!

The Labrador Military Museum is located in Building 381, Banshee Road, in the upstairs of the CANEX store.

Northern Lights Museum

The Northern Lights Museum includes a variety of artifacts such as uniforms, medals, weapons, and photographs from the Royal Newfoundland Regiment, World War II, and the Vietnam War.

The Birch Brook Nordic Ski Club is a non-profit recreational and environmental education facility located near Happy Valley-Goose Bay in Central Labrador that has been operated by community volunteers for nearly two decades. The beautiful trail system can be used year-round for skiing or hiking.

Lester Burry Memorial Park is a historical section of North West River’s waterfront area. The Labrador Heritage Society has developed this property as a community green space including the Trapper’s Monument, a large outdoor stage for community events, boat launch, and scenic boardwalk.

Kinsmen Park is a municipal park located across from the Town Hall. The park includes an outdoor stage, washrooms, canteen, playground equipment, and large green space. The park is available for private rental and is utilized for a variety of community events.

Grand Lake Provincial Park Reserve
